Everything you need to know about Rohini, the Rohini Passport, and inclusive employment in India.
All Questions
Rohini is India's first verified ecosystem for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) — connecting verified PwD candidates with inclusive employers. The platform provides a trusted digital identity (Rohini Passport), job matching based on disability type, and tools for employers to meet their RPwD Act 2016 obligations.
Three groups can register: (1) PwD Candidates — individuals with a recognized disability who are looking for employment, (2) Employers — companies and organizations committed to inclusive hiring practices, and (3) NGOs — non-governmental organizations that support PwD communities.
The Rohini Passport is a verified digital identity for Persons with Disabilities. It is a 5-step profile that includes personal information, disability declaration, UDID document upload, work preferences, and admin verification. A fully verified Rohini Passport gives candidates a trusted, portable identity they can present to any employer on the platform.
UDID stands for Unique Disability ID — a government-issued identity card for Persons with Disabilities in India, issued under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD). Rohini uses UDID to verify that candidates are recognized PwD under the RPwD Act 2016, ensuring trust for both candidates and employers.
Yes. Registration and the Rohini Passport are completely free for all PwD candidates. There are no hidden charges for creating a profile, applying for jobs, or getting your UDID verified.
Rohini supports all 21 disability categories defined under the RPwD Act 2016: Blindness, Low Vision, Leprosy Cured, Hearing Impairment, Locomotor Disability, Dwarfism, Intellectual Disability, Mental Illness, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, Chronic Neurological Conditions, Specific Learning Disabilities, Multiple Sclerosis, Speech and Language Disability, Thalassemia, Hemophilia, Sickle Cell Disease, Multiple Disabilities, Acid Attack Survivors, and Parkinson's Disease.
Employers register their company, submit documents proving their commitment to inclusive hiring, and complete an employer passport. Once verified by Rohini admins, employers can post jobs, search verified PwD candidates, and manage applications — all on a single platform.
The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016 is a landmark Indian legislation that recognizes 21 disability types, mandates 4% reservation in government jobs for PwD, and requires all establishments to ensure reasonable accommodations for employees with disabilities. Rohini is built to help both candidates and employers comply with this Act.
Document verification typically takes 2–5 business days after you submit your Rohini Passport. You will receive an email notification once your profile has been reviewed. During this time your profile remains active at a basic verification level.

Yes. NGOs can register on Rohini to help PwD candidates in their communities create verified profiles, access job opportunities, and connect with inclusive employers. NGO accounts have dedicated tools to manage and support their beneficiaries.
